Many a wise man has said that no good can come from Tweeting. OK, maybe it wasn’t many, maybe it was just Anthony Cumia. Either way, Kurt Metzger has landed him self on trial in the court of social media.
On Sunday, August 14th, Kurt decided to share his opinion on the recent banning of a comedian from Upright Citizens Brigade theaters and training centers. Metzger expressed concern that the decision to ban the comedian was based on conversations in a private Facebook group where the comedian was accused of raping several women.
Metzger took the position that rape accusations are very serious and should be handled by the police, not in the court of social media. He further intimated that by encouraging victims of rape to “come out” on social media leaves the crime unpunished. Metzger (the co-host of Race Wars on Sirius XM) immediately became the recipient of the leftist social media blitzkrieg.
If we’re going to be honest about this, Metzger was not seeking to disparage the victim(s) of a heinous and unforgivable crime; rather, he was trying to articulate the absolute critical need for police involvement. He was also on a futile mission to remind SJW’s that the 5th amendment to the constitution of the United States ensures defendants are “innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” a right that is so quickly overlooked nowadays.
But as they are want to do, the SJW’s whipped out the old playbook and began a hunt to hurt Metzger personally. <Enter Amy Schumer>. Certainly, the SJW’s have a friend in Amy Schumer.
Twitter began screaming for justice to be applied by Judge Amy Schumer, who employees Metzger as a writer on her Comedy Central show.
Not to be outdone, media pillars like the Daily Dot jumped onto the campaign for social justice.
Amy Schumer dodged the twitter onslaught as long as she possibly could, after all, Metzger is a personal friend. But in time, she betrayed to virtue signal to her base.
The SJW dogs have been fed, but rest assured, they are not done with Metzger’s carcass. Soon, they will be calling for his termination from Sirius XM and based on what we know about their back bone and his boss’ (Opie of Opie and Anthony fame) desire to defend his friends; Metzger will be persona non Grata soon enough.
